We’re Livingston County’s only totally digital media source
The new and improved LivingstonTalk.com is set to re-launch on Sept. 1, 2010, as a brand-new product with a brand-new operating structure and a brand-new design and focus.
The new and improved LivingstonTalk.com website boasts a slew of new features, including an incredibly cool events calendar that features list and calendar views AND automatic mapping to venues; a free business directory that links to company websites (we hope to see your business listed!); free garage sale listings; and a coupon page, which is proving to be popular, especially in light of these tough economic times. There will also be feature stories on the people and events that make Livingston County a great place to live and do business.
When it originally launched on Oct. 1, 2009, LivingstonTalk was designed, maintained and hosted by a company that is no longer involved. The relationship was terminated on July 1, and the site was off-line for most of that month. During that time, it was re-imagined, re-designed and re-built from the ground up on a cutting-edge WordPress platform by Maria Stuart, the site’s editor.
The new site takes the same blog-centered approach to community commentary, but with an expanded roster of contributors. Its merry band of regular bloggers will be back — led by Stuart and Buddy Moorehouse, former editors and award-winning columnists who were laid off from their jobs at the local newspaper in 2009; LivingstonTalk.com is now open to all who want to write. The site’s front page will be curated daily with the best submissions.
The WordPress framework is also far more photo-friendly than the previous site, making it a perfect place for visual bloggers.
